Default Head Swaps

Ok guys I have either stumbled apon a breakthrough, misinterpreted a lot of information and come up with an impossible conclusion, or just brought up an old topic, but here we go.

In order to increase power out of the Chrysler/Mitsu 3.0 V6 12V SOHC in a 1994 Dodge Shadow I thought it might be possible to swap out its heads with ones off of a 24V DOHC or 24V SOHC off of some mitsu preferably the VR4 motor. How much work is involved in takinga Chrysler 6G7212V SOHC and making a 24V motor if its even possible. Also I heard that the Chrysler6G72PCM has an insufficent fuel alotment for increasing fuel into the engine.

While we're on the topic of head swaps how similar are the 2.2 blocks of say a 1992 Dodge Shadow 2.2 N/A and a 1992 Dodge Spirit R/T DOHC 16V? If I were able to get the head off the Spirit R/T would it bolt onto my block or once again is it not even possible.

Thanks, Joe

You can't put the 24v heads on a 12v. They will bolt up but the blocks are cast different for the timing belt setup. Since the 24v uses more idle pulleys than the 12v.

Spirit r/t head will bolt on to a 2.2 n/a but why waste it on a n/a. If you can get your hands on one put up on ebay and make some money. Those head are so rare and worth alot. If you still want to put the head on the n/a you would have to swap out everything to do it right since dohc motors do not run a distriber and have a pick up sensor mounted in the trans that reads it off the flywheel.

The sohc headoff a base stealth mine was '94 (92 shadow v6 with 94 stealth heads)will bolt up but you will most likely have to bash the firewall a bit.
It has much better flowing heads than stock but theyre a little taller.
