93 dodge shadow
ok my mom has a 93 shadow. recently we have beenhaveing trouble that seemed to be a pluged fuel filter so it was changed. and drorve fine for a while but now it will drive fine on some areas and then for no reason just lose power. but not a total lose it comes and goes. any advice.
p.s it is a 2.5L engine and EFI |
RE: 93 dodge shadow
First, Welcome to the DF family!!!
A good place to start would be to check the codes. Is/does your engine light on or come on during power loss? You could also have an intermittent fuel pump problem. I found that my K runs its best on mid-grade gas 87 octane. |
RE: 93 dodge shadow
no the engine light does not come on during the problematic times. the fuel pump is new. and i have yet to chek the codes. i will tonight.

RE: 93 dodge shadow
Being the fuel pump is new you might also want to check and see if the electric connections came a little loose.

RE: 93 dodge shadow
Another thought, you could have a cat thats getting plugged, or a partially collapsed muffler (rotting from inside out)

RE: 93 dodge shadow
i think i have it figured out. i think it is the fuel pump. i came to this because the level of fuel in the tank effects the performance.
