I have a 1992 Dodge Spirit with the 2.5L, recently I went and got another trans for it out of a 90 Dodge Caravan with a 2.5L with the same A413 trans, I installed the trans into my car, I started the car, the car sounded really great, engine was running strong but the trans, when i put it into reverse it just shifted into drive, and it wont go into any other gear really, just drive, can someone tell me what might be wrong, thanks

 

Have you checked your linkage? Also if the trans is controlled by the computer you might have to check the computer for trouble codes.

 

ive checked the linkage a billion times, and the transmission in these cars arent being controled by any computer... the trans went into drive right as you shift into reverse, and the rest of the gears was all drive aswell, one guy said it was the servo, not allowing it to shift, the linkage was all correct... i took the trans out and took it back to the guy and got my money back... so now im on the hunt for another transmission THAT WORKS!!!
