I have the same problem with my 93 Shadow with the 2.5 Non-Turbo TBI, My problem is within the throttle kick down cable coming off the tranny. Not sure if your car is FI or Carb so I cant help much.
Clean the vacuum lines. I can't remember what the stuff is called that you spray in it, but it cleans all the valves also. I had that problem with my 87 jetta. That fixed it right up.
