Omni glh
Ouch! Mine is far less than yours then.
Johnny,
As much as you might like to believe, the GLHS is by no means faster or quicker than the SRT-4. The GLHS was the best bang for the buck and took down many bigger competitors. It was a giant slayer plain and simple, but that was then and this is now. Now the SRT-4 is a giant slayer of sorts, I guess you could say that it's a modern day version of the GLHS. However the SRT-4 is far better from many years of advancements in technology. The SRT-4 has the GLHS beat in both 0-60 MPH and the 1/4 mile by about a full second and theres no point in mentioning the top speed since the SRT-4 has that covered even better. They do however seem to handle the same on the skidpad.
Here is how they compare:
"The official GLHS numbers went like this: quarter-mile in 14.7 seconds, 0-60 in 6.5 sec, and .88g on the skidpad."
The '04 SRT-4 runs the 1/4 mile in 13.7 - 13.9 seconds, 0-60 MPH in 5.3-5.6 seconds and .86-.88 g on the skidpad. (The SRT-4 has so many varying #'s since it has been tested by most every magazine, these numbers are the average area in which the '04 runs.)

The SRT-4 has the power with a 7/70K powertrain warranty though, the modded GLH/GLHS has not. If you want to take the money route then you can get an old Dart 2 door and squeeze a built 440 in it and crush pretty much anything you'll come up against on the street.
And Procharger has supercharger kits for the 440 that can take you up to over 800+ horsepower.
87Indy500,
Where did you get that SRT-4, E Bay? Is it the 1:24 scale metal kit from Maisto? I have a tuner version from them that I have been converting to stock and repainting to match mine as close as possible. Here is a so-so picture I took of it with my cell phone when I got the model:

Yes, its the Maisto 1:24 diecast, but I didn't have to assemble it. If you looking for the stock version and can't find one, let me know. I can always pick up another one and ship it out to you. The "tuner" version don't look too bad though...
That's cool, thanks. Mine is ready to be painted now, the interior is already done, I just need to paint the body and it will be done. All I need is this one for now though, I might want to get more later and repaint them to match all the different production colors though.
Hey. i dont know how to use this thing but i have some seats that came in my bug when i bought it and just found out that they are for a Dodge Shelby GLHS Omni and was wondering if any one is interested in buying them. Im asking for $150 obo I live in California. you can email me and ill send pics they are in good condition. Thanks for your help.
Hmm... If the debate is between an SRT-4 and an Omni GLH, I guess I'll have to go with the Omni here.
The SRT is nice, but everyone expects a car like that to go fast. When you pull up in a turbo Omlet and rev your 2.2L at someone, a lot of times they laugh at you. Then you smoke them and you're the only one laughing.
I've always liked the sleeper cars. They don't have to be pretty...just fast.
