went out to tinker with car today. finally got a newe ignition coil and put it in. got everything connected and tried to start her. Heard the feul pump go then she tried to crank but didnt start. I poured a little gas in the throttle body. tried and got same result 2 more times. Then I got nothing dash lites up when i turn the key but it doesnt crank at all and now i dont hear the feul pump.
yeah it only has a plug into the bottom then the spark wire out the top. plug appeared to clip properly and didnt look like it could be reversed if i wanted to. could the distributor be bad?
What type of coil does it have? I've only seen them with the old school cylinder type that has everything on the top with the plug wire in the middle and the positive and negative wires on each side of the plug wire, like the one pictured here:
