im replacing the clutch on an 87 shadow and ive got a question on how the throwout bearing attaches. we have the new throwout bearing clipped on, and it moves up and down like its supposed to but when it reaches the top it turns to the side... ive never replaced a throwout bearing so i dont know if this is normal or not. if anyone knows let me know. thanx

 

Yes it is normal until the trans is installed....the face of the bearing rides on the fingers of the pressure plate....this will stop its "flopping".
