89 Spirit stalls
Maybe someone can help me. I have a really large issue with my 89 Dodge Spirit.
Usually when I leave my car to idle for more than around 15 seconds, my car will stall (either right away, or while I'm driving a few minutes later.)
Sometimes, I notice that the RPM needle goes all haywire (jumps up and down really quickly before settling) a few seconds before my car just stalls. But sometimes, there are no warnings. It happens when I'm stopped, when I'm driving 15 km/h, when I'm driving 80 km/h... and so on. I've never had a problem when I have been going 100+ km/h.
And then usually it takes a few minutes to start my car up again. Car turns over, but doesn't fire. But sometimes starts up right away. This happens whether the temperature is mild, hot, or cold outside. And happens regardless of whether engine is hot or cold. I moved from a dry climate to a humid climate. It seems to be a bigger problem while in the humid climate.
It is a really annoying problem! If anyone can help, that would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Actually, I found on a website how to check the error codes by counting how many times the Check Engine Light flashes when the key is in the on position. I did this, but the only error code that showed up was 12, but I know that is just because my battery was recently dead (left my lights on).
Unfortunately, no error codes are shown right after my car stalls. But, I have read on the net that error codes aren't necceserily shown when the MAP sensor or Hall Effect Sensor is faulty.
Those might be the culprit.
Do you know if a faulty MAP sensor or Hall Effect Sensor could possibly be a cause of my problems?
Thanks.
