Default Turbo Question

So my 92 Shadow ES has the 2.5L in it. What i wanted to know is how easy/hard would it be for me to add a turbo to it? Can I just buy a bolt on or is there a specific I need? Would I need to get a new tranny? (5sp Currently) Will I need an aftermarket intercooler? Things like that.
Thanks for your time.

From what I understand you need to get the wiring harness, ecu, and a few other things in order to put the turbo on, depending on which turbo you put on you will need a intercooler. Ive looked into dropping a turbo motor in my 93, I can get a 2.2 or a 2.5l turbo motor for around 300 bux would just have to pull it out (then i would wanna build it up). Reason I havent yet is I would more than likely need to get a new trans (currently have the 3spd auto) and would need the harness, ecu, and i know there are a few other things. There are a few people on here who know ALOT more than i do on this subject, So maybe they can help you out further if you decided to turbo-charge it.

check out turbododge.com they can tell you best.. But i can say they will most likely tell you to get a donor car. You can come by an old turbo car for cheap. If you live in maryland i know where you can get a broken down dodge 600 conv for free if you can haul it out of the woods. YOu will need wire harnesses, fuel pumps and a lot of little stuff. You can change a natual aspirated 2.5 over to turbo but some of the blocks are slightly different. Not to mention compression ratios. Thats why its better to just do an engine swap or just go by a car that is already turbo. Ebay has them for under 3 grand.

lots of internal differances between the turbo's and n/a transmissions on turbo's are beefier on the inside so guess what that means k-cars are easy to change motor, tranny and wire harness in best to buy a wrecked or rusted out turbo car and swap all in and go from there.
