'88 Aries 2.5 - for a few years now, I have changed from the Mopar MO-409 original size (small) oil filter to the MO090 (larger, higher capacity), the one called for when I also had a '91 Acclaim 2.5 (that one is gone, too bad).
I think a larger filter = more surface area for filtering & slightly more oil capacity, so I think a little better.
I have also read that the Motorcraft FL-400S is a good substitute for the small original size filter.
Any comments?

 

I've been running the MO090 on my motors for years without fail. That's on the V6s, so I would figure it's plenty for the 4cyl.
