Help with fuel tank filler neck .....
Hi Folks,
I'm replacing all the fuel system components on an '88 Reliant, and am having problems installing the filler neck. The neck will only go into the tank about 2 inches. I have tried all ways to move the tank around, with the straps removed, but the neck will not go in no matter what I try. Does anyone know a trick or some way to get the neck into the tank ?? And yes, I have lubricated the grommet. My next step may be to buy a rubber section of hose and remove a section of the OEM filler neck; that way the neck will have to fit into the tank......
