3.0 V6 engine management
Was wondering if anyone knew of any engine management available for the 3.0 V6. If anyone is running one what are you using are you happy with it, and would you recommend it to others. BTW I have a 94 Dodge Shadow ES with only 43k Just installed some new 30# injectors.
Nice Shadow, you should post some pics up. Most P-bodies are really hard to find with anything less than 100k on them (mine have 137k on the V6 and 93k on the 2.5)
Don't know nothing about any stand-alone engine management systems, but I'd like to know how to bypass that miser of an ECU that runs the V6 too. Seems to be the only thing limiting the V6 from being tuned...

Well wasn't exactly looking for a standalone since those tend to be pretty pricey, but at this point looks like I'm either going to go with Unichip or MegaSquirt II. Since both of those are pretty universal. The Mega Squirt II is alot cheaper but by the same token alot harder since you have to assemble it from the resistor up. I'm going to using the Unichip on my Mazda Protege5 Turbo car, so depending on how that goes will probably help me decide.
I would post pics but the car doesn't look all that great. Low mileage but car was first my grandmothers (reason its so low mileage, she hardly ever drove it) and then it was my Mom's, which is why it looks like crap now. Mom isnt' all that good a driver and scrapped the guard rail on each side of the car, seperate occassions for each side. Then took it to Earl Schiebs for the body and paint work. Down here we call Earl Scheibs "Earl Scabs" cause the paint starts pealing after a month. Thing has more orange peal than most oranges I've seen. I've always wanted to learn how to do body and paint. Know the theories just never done it myself. Have a friend that's a really good paint and body guy who said he'd help me out. Thinking of modifing the body at the same time. Like exagerate the fender bulges similar to the subies but probably not that extreme. Do a CXT grille. And drop it an inch with Eibach springs. But that will come after building up the engine.

Well picked up a slightly used Dastek Unichip A module and associated pieces, for relatively cheap. Will see if I can get it wired up by this weekend, then get my roommate to tune it (he's an authorized unichip tuner) on his shops dyno. I'm being hopeful but not really counting on getting all this done this weekend, as he's rather busy individual.
Be interested in seeing how the Unichip performs. I personally am going with the Megasquirt. Even if you buy the fully assembled unit it is still cheaper than the Unichip, and I think it provides more tuning capability without having to rely on the Unichip installer/tuner. I plan on building mine anyway, would make a fun project for a weekend I think.
