Default My 1989 Plymouth Reliant Tranny Problems

Hello, I have just recently bought a 1989 Plymouth Reliant 4 Door Sedan. It has a 2.2L 4Cyl in it and has about 85,000 miles on it. My question is this. I bought off of a guy who said that it was having some tranny problems. I made it about half-way home and the tranny just went out. I can put it in all of the gears, but it won't move. It will just idle in all of those gears. What do you think that i need to do? Thanks!

oops stupidity edited.
Your clutch isn't engaging. Could be slave cylinder, master cylinder, clutch or pressure plate.

It is an automatic transmisson not a standard. I dont have a slave clinder or all that stuff. Thanks for your reply though.

Sorry but its time to buy a tranny. The A604's first year was 89 and it was more junk then than now. Rebuild is not an option for the average home mechanic on this year because the trans kit includes all the updates made to this trans in the last 15 yrs. Replacement is the best option and usaully cheapest option.
