Default Looking for front CV axle inner seal, or at least a part number

I have a 1987 plymouth caravelle 2.2 turbo with automatic transmission. The 87 turbo dodge 600 and turbo chrysler new yorker use the same engine, transmission and drive shafts, according to the chrysler repair manual. I started replacing the passenger side cv axle assembly but ran into an issue. There is supposed to be a "rubber washer seal" on the inside end of the axle, I guess to keep crud from getting into the "intermediate shaft" or to keep transmission fluid from leaking out. (See pictures) It is ONLY used on the passenger side and ONLY on turbo models. My car has no seal and wasn't leaking at this location. The chrysler dealer says the part has been discontinued. Rockauto doesn't have it. I have not been able to find it on ebay. I'm wondering if anyone has a part number for it, or if I even really need it? The other concern has to do with the replacement axle (cardone) that I bought from rockauto. It doesn't appear to go into the intermediate shaft all the way, like the old one did. There is about a 3/8" gap between the "slinger" and the face of the inner cv housing. I talked to cardone tech support and he said the gap is not a problem but I should install the rubber washer seal.... Anyone run into this issue???

Is there a seal/ o ring in the end of the face of the inner cv housing? It may be an updated design.

I pulled out the existing axle assembly but saw no seals or o-rings on the inside end. I also didn't see a seal inside the "slinger" or "intermediate shaft". I'm probably just going to install the new axle without the "rubber washer seal" because I can't find one.
