Question about an 84 Aries?
My first car was a 81 Aries K handed down from my father with 180,000 miles on it. My fathers only grip was at 40,000 miles he had to put a new head gasket on.
I am currently looking at an 84 Aries with only 29,000 orignal miles on it and my father told me that "they all blow up at or near 40,000".
Has anyone else had this problem?
The guy is asking $895 - My truck is offically paid for (and getting 10mpg) so I was going to get this to run around town in!

1984 Aries,4cyl, AUTO. PS. SHOWS 29,000 MILES?, REAL CLEAN INSIDE, NO WEAR ON
BRAKE PEDAL OR (CAM NOISE) NEVER HAD A RADIO, LIKE 29,000 ORIGINAL, $895.

the head gasket is a common problem with the 2.2/2.5's, but i think 40k is a bit of an over generalization. Many go 100+ without it occuring, while others go 30k- it can and prolly will happen eventually but its a 4 cylinder so its no big deal to do it yourself. If the car is in good shape I'd go for it, especially with the older body styling (always liked the early 80s front end).
