I drive a 1993 Dodge Shadow with the 3 speed automatic transmission, I find it sometimes when shifting from park to reverse or drive, the transmission will shake violently, not sure what it'd be. Also, when its in reverse the transmission will vibrate really roughly, the steering wheel shakes and everything. Anybody know whats goin on here? Plus, the transmission was rebuilt about 1000 KM ago. Thanks.

 

i had a similar problem with my shadow, it turned out to be a loose tranny mount. You might want to check that out.

 

Ohh, so lemme guess, thats gonna mean taking the tranny out again? great.

 

my mechanic never had to take out the tranny, i dont know how he did he did it but he didnt have to take it out.

 

Well thats a relief. Wonder if it can be done in a garage over a weekend?

 

It only took him one day to fix the problem but he has been in business for years and all he does is trannys. I bet yours could be done easily within one weekend.

 

Ok. Any suggestions on what the reverse shudder may be? it shakes violently when I back up sometimes.
