Default '94 Shadow

I've had very little problems with my Shadow (knock wood) but I have a question. Lately when I've put on the AC, the car has been making a high-pitched squealing sound... it sounds like a belt. Has anyone else had this and is it really just a belt?

Also- does anyone else have problems with the paint peeling off? I've already had mine re-painted 4 years ago and it looks like the hood is needing another paint job. The passenger door peels off just under the window also. Where is the best place to get a good paint job?

My last question is what major repairs have you had to do on the car after 83,000 miles? I just don't want everything to go at once because I'm starting a new job in the fall.

Thanks so much for any help, advice, or tips.

- A proud owner of a Dodge Shadow

Hey, I gotta 93' Shadow, but it does'nt have the paint problem, its been re-painted once, the last paint job the hood and hatch started to peel off. Almost every early 90's Mopar car does it, I think its something wrong with the primer, wouldnt make the paint stick or something, I'am probably wrong though. About the belt, I cant help ya there. And my car is at 184 000 km, I've had to get new timing belt, transmission rebuilt once, and air conditioner fixed once. Also exhaust rusted out, and its been painted once.

First of all welcome to the site Tray and yes i have the same sound on my shadow. Mine is the belts squeeking and it drives me nuts. try shooting some WD-40 on the belts and see if it stops. And yes the paint is fading on my Shadow too.

Thanks so much Dodge_Ram_3500 and 1994shadowman. Glad there are others that refuse to part with their Shadows. I've gotten a LOT of flack for not trading it in but it holds too many memories at this point. I want to get some improvements done here and there... cosmetic and mechanical. Got any suggestions? What have you done to keep yours looking and running good?

Well I gotta a Magnaflow exhaust, thats not too much special though. I'am plannin on getting a K&N filter. I got fog lamps, they make the car look a bit more sharp, its suprising. Also, I got chrome hubcaps, but I dont like those, you might wanna look for Dodge 'Pumper' rims, off an ES, they look good on Shadows.
