Default New and w/ a problem

Hi, I have a problem with my GF's 82 dodge rampage, it has the 2.2 in it, it's in good shape w/ a new T-belt, plugs/ wires, intake cleaning, etc.... but ever since i've driven the car it has had times where it would idle high (around 1500rpm) after it had gotten warm (it's also a 4spd w/ the A-460), I corrected it by turning down the idle screw on the carb. and the problem quit for about 2k miles, just recently it's started skipping and sputtering after getting warm and when the clutch is depressed as to go around a turn onto another road. I think it's either the hall effect under the dist. or the coil is acting up, I want to narrow down the problem before I leave for the navy in 9 days. If i can i'm going to fix it. Anyone have any ideas?

Talked to one of my buddies who used to be a dodge master tech and told him the problems, he said it could most likely be the EGR valve is stuck open with a peice of carbon, and revving the engine is helping to clear it up but the carbon is still loosing up. He said to drive it till it stutters then tap on the EGR and see if it helps it, if so then clean the vavle, if not he said there's a small hole in the body of the carb at the front, he said if you plug it with your finger and the problem goes away it's the idle circuit inside the carb that's getting clogged with something, he said you can take it apart if I wanted too, if not then just plug the hole with JBweld or epoxy and then get the idle speed correct and adjust the idle mixture screw.

The dieseling problem is probably due to me replacing the timing belt, the engine was re-tuned before it was sold to their neighbor, who then gave it to her. After Replaceing the belt it did not diesel as much but it has started to diesel again, and he said it was just the ignition timing. The timing had probably been retarded due to the older belt and the timing was set to it. Now the belt is new and the spark timing just needs adjusting.

Hope this helps someone else out.

Mine 83 Rampagewould want to die going around right hand corners. I finally took the carb apart and found that there is a valve that threadsinto the bottem of the float bowl that was about to come out. I threaded it back in. No more dying around corners.

The EGR valve will make it run high RPM's at times. And when it is at an idle it will run ruff. It will feel like a vac leak.

That's what I checked for first w/ some eather, carb was tightend down about 2k miles ago so it didn't leak, well, I'm going to boot camp today( in 5 mo. I'll be a Nuke Machinist Mate), I'll give my girl a note explainin' what is actually wrong with it and the master-tech's number. He was all over the truck when I first brought it around (used to work at a quick-lube), he checked if it had the code sys. on it, which it doesn't... and giving me little hints and tips on car.

Well, talk to ya'll again in 2 mo.
