Default "Tinking" in the Valve covers

I just finish put the water pump in yesterday got the vehicle all back together and started it to check for leaks and there was a "tinking" noise coming from the valve covers its not a knock or a ping but a tink. Somebody told me it sounded like the rocker arms were loose. What else could it be, if it is the rocker arms should I tighten them or replace them as well? thanx
