The Black Pearl

1996 Ext. Cab 4x4 Dakota 5.2 Auto

Current mods:
  • Bedlined paintjob (previous owner job...working on making it better)
  • 2" body lift
  • 2" rear blocks
  • Torsion bars cranked
  • Pro Comp 98 15x8 black steelies (4.5 backspacing)
  • 33x12.50 Goodyear Duratrac tires
  • Thrush Welded Muffler with high flow cat
  • Cab lights
  • Extened mirrors with turn signals
  • Backup sensors with camera
  • Blutooth CB with dual antennas
  • Front bumper off road lights
  • Custom gas gauge that bounces all over the place
Future mods:
  • Fix the uneven paint
  • SAS swap
  • Possible motor swap
I do still have the Eagle Alloy 20's that were on it with tires (2nd pic) for sale. The wheels are actually chrome, and currently chrome. The previous owner had plasti-dipped them black. Pretty cool stuff if you haven't ever messed with it before. paint on/peel off when you want it off.

I know the bedlined paint job is either a "love it" or "hate it" kind of thing, however I plan on using it for hunting so it will see a lot of woods.

Cool truck. Post up some pictures in the 1st gen Dakota sub-section on how you mounted your front hitch. I got my front winch on my custom fit front hitch.

As a side note most people say dual CB antennas under 6 feet in between eachother will hinder the performance of the CB.

Thanks. I actually don't have the hitch on the front anymore. I didn't like how it hung down, so I removed it. It was mounted to the frame where the bumper attaches. I plan on mounting some tow hooks in the same location instead. I do like how you are using yours for your winch. Diggin the SAS swap too. Thanks for the heads up on the CB's. They were already mounted on the truck when I bought it. I'll check into that.
