Hey just wanted to say hi and add you as a friend. I used to work on cars, starting with my first one and my dad taught me stuff. I went on to rebuild and hop up motors, some auto transmissions, and stuff. But I grew tired of busted knuckles and oil in my hair-lolol. In 2005 I bought a 2001 Dodge ram 2whl drive PU, v6 engine auto trans. I had it for 5 years and only had to change tires and oil. It was very dependable. Then, on May 24th 2011 my home and that pickup was completely sestroyed by an F5 tornado. Then, to make matters even woirse, I bought this 1995 Dodge ram 1500. I looked it o0ver and I saw no oil; or water leaks, the truck seemed to run fine. And it was everything I wanted in a truck-V8 engine, standard tranny, and 21 inch Chrome wheels. But how that person got this truck to hold together for the test drive is beyond me. Two days later the rear axle locked up. Got that rebuilt. Then every time I would come to a stop, the oil pressure would drop to zero, and sometimes the truck would stall. Took the truck to Firestone (DONT ever go there!) and they told me the computer wasnt working. Well to make a long story short, I would look up problems on the internet and was always directed here. Hey you-one of the moderators-was a huge help, and we both discovered I had that plenum problem. Buying the Hughes intake and replacing that kegger was a HUGE help
any ways, I was hoping when I owned the 2001 Dodge truck I wouldnt have to work on vehicl;es anymore-but boy was I wrong-lolol. I see you are new here so feel free to ask me or anyone of us any questions and Id be more than happy to help ya if I can.
But yeah, that stupid Plenum plate was a huge mistake straight from the factory. The plate is steel, the intskae is alunimum. So they heat and expand at different rates-thus causing torn gasket. There was oil all over the inside of the kegger I had
