RE: occ vs oil accumulator
They are two totally different animals The OCC catches oil that gets blown by the PCV valve and prevents it from gunking up other parts of the engine. An accumulator is used inmostlycompetition engines and prevents starting line and finish line oil starvation by injecting extra oil into the system when required........
Yep dustys the man! I had an oil accumulator on my 7 sec dragster. It actually held an extra 3 quarts of oil in it. do to the negative Gs of the parachute the oil in the pan goes to the front of the motor were the oil pick up cant reach it, starving the motor of oil. oil presure would go to 0 sometimes, not good! with the accumulator it feeds those 3 to 5extra quarts when needed. kept me at 20psi while slowing down but still not good enough for my nurves. Dry sump best way to go 100 psi through the traps only droping to 60!
