Being in Canada, you're going to have issues with the traction in winter with the "3 season" tires.....

Awesome advice everyone, I appreciate it. Bluenoser - I'm actually looking at all the cars that you test drove and I agree with you on the price and performance. To be totally truthfull, I'd hate to say this here, but I'm really kean on the RSX type-s [:'(]just because all the review that I've read say it's a great car. The only downside to my thoughts of the rsx is the price. Decisions...decisions...the SRT-4 is def high on the list thought. What else do yall have for me? How comfortable is the interior?

Yea I know.
I wonder if the dealership can order the car w/ 15" wheels and winter tires instead of the 17" 3 seasoners that come w/ it, especially if I get the car this winter, Then I'll buy 18" wheels in the spring. I've seen an srt-4 that was slightly dropped (which i think it actually needs, the car stands a little high) and had 18"ers on it. cool.
The tokico shocks should handle the lowering springs, right?
oh urcrznfrbruzin, I have a '96 civic si right now, thats ex coupe in the states. Your Si is our SiR i believe.
I have some mods on it; CAI, Ractive Header-back exhaust, APC short throw shifter(its way shorter than the srt-4) blue ichibahn alluminum shifter ****, which is cold in the winter, and an AIT chip. Sound mods too: Eclipse stereo deck, Clarion mids, tweets and 6X9s, two 10" Clarion dual voice coil subs and two Bazooka amps. Of course it has a Viper alarm system on it.
I'm thinking to either modify my car to where i want it which will cost approx $10,000 or get another (more powerfull) ride.
I too like the RSX type S, good reliable car, good resale value and decent power but (just like my car) you have to scream it to get it, when the v-tech kicks in, at which point the car starts sucking back the gas. Torque is good. No need to shift back a gear on hills and power at low end that will move you around quickly without screaming it and attracting the cops. Thats why im thinking SRT-4
For 05 the RSX is getting a diff front and rear facia and 17"ers

There aren't any options on the SRT-4 when it comes to wheels/tires that I've ever heard of. Everybody in the snow belt either puts their SRT-4 up for the winter or goes out and buys an extra set of "wheels" (which is what the owner's manual recommends, admitting that the stock tires are "3 season").

yeah i haven't heard of any options either but i figure either they send me some wheels that are for the regular sx2.0 w/ winter tires or i get some from the junkyard and i buy aftermarket wheels in the spring.

The only options on the SRT-4 are the color, side air bags (this option replaces the Viper seats with standard Neon seats), sunroof and Kicker stereo. I only wanted black and the sunroof. For a little help with your comparison, in the current issue of Sport Compact car magazines 100 best sport compact cars of all time the 2002-present RSX Type-S came in at #75 and the 2003-present SRT-4 came in at #16. The RSX looks good and performs well, but the SRT-4 looks bad to the bone and performs far better than most that cost twice as much. The SRT-4 is far better than the RSX in every way , except that the RSX has 2 doors instead of 4.

I'm glad I have a sunroof, it's one of the reasons I bought mine when I did, it was black, had the Viper style seats and the sunroof, that is all I wanted on my SRT-4.
