Tell me about it. Stupid plate laws.....when cars are coming at me it's a heck of a lot harder to read the plate than it is when you are following someone....
I don't care about that law. I'm in Fairfax, va. My car is registered in California and only has the rear california plate. They eye me but I haven't been harrassed yet.

If your registration is current in the "old" state they would have to prove you've been a resident of the new state (Va) longer that the local law allowed before changing your plates over. I went thru the same thing in N.C., I kept my Texas plate on the front and put the single N.C. plate on the back......

I'm military so that's my excuse for them. Besides I won't be here in a year.

my front license plate is on my windshield and its been there for about a year and a half. its pretty visible. i haven't been bugged by the law just yet. the only bad thing is the whole in the front. i always wanted to know is it just mines or all the srt's have that whole in the front bumper??? its just a little drilled whole where the license plate is supposed to be.

I believe that the front plate bracket is installed at the dealership since not all states require a front plate and I have seen several without the hole and plate. We have to have a front plate here as well, see[]:

Mine has about a nickle sized silver plug that I got from the dealer detailer. I thought about trying to plug it myself to make it look more presentable but I just left it. I have seen some without the plug and I didn't really like seeing a hole there. The cost of a body shop fixing it is not p acticle to me but I haven't had a quote. I had the license plate in the dash but took it out. I figured since it's up high and unusual that it would be more noticable. Just me.

Yeah, I love my plates but one on the front just uglys it up really badly. If they would somehow design the front of the newer cars to better accept the front plates like the older cars did. On the newer cars the front plate just sit out on the front and looks horrible and stands out alot.
