04 SRT-4
Hi everyone. I am picking up my new black srt-4 tonight. 2004. Let me give you some background on my other toy. Its a 2002 SVT Focus with a Jackson Racing S/C @ 14 pounds of boost. My other mods are Spec stage 3 clutch, Fidanza Flywheel, Quaife atb,Superchips Custom Tune (8250 redline), ORP, Borla, Short ram style induction, msd coil pack, nology wires, h&r coilovers...and a pretty nice stero system. I love the SVT, nothing can out do it on the road course, but I am ready for some real 1/4 mile fun...enter srt4. I cant wait to get my hands in there, but it will have to wait as I have a bunch of money tied up in the SVT right now. Im shooting for a low 13 with my drag radials coming in today, which is pretty crappy, because if I would of spend all the money on the srt4 as i did the SVT...then WHOA! I look forward to learning more about the car. Ill probably do suspension stuff first, and some new wheels with some more rubber on the ground.. I cant wait to get the srt-4 home.

Since the '04 SRT-4's already have the stage 1 upgrade on them and the LSD, it should be a 13.0-13.2 car right out of the box. I watched a few '03 SRT-4's with the stage 1 upgrade running these times at Norwalk and National Trails just last summer. The stock SRT-4's were running 13.7-13.9, but there was one running slow 14.2's.

Ok, maybe a high 13. I tell yall I could not be happier with my choice. I brought her home last night, and read up as much as I could on her. It is a beautiful machine. The interior is lacking, but hey 19K, you cant beat it!! I havea few questions.

What type of internals (materials) are the rods, pistons, etc...made of?

What type of turbo? What is max boost stock?

What is the redline? It looks like it would be about 6K...but also could be in between.

Is there a speed limiter?

What type of tranny (gearbox, whatever) is on this thing, cause it is the best shifting thing I have felt besides a Cobra, the SVT shift is sloppy and nasty feeling, the srt is percise and smooth...also can you give me some info on the clutch?

Those will get me started...I cant wait to start moding this thing! Here I come 12s!! I would like to line up my SVT against this thing, but none of my friends can handle the stage 3 clutch with 6 puck design!! LOL If there is some place with a lot of good info just point me in that direction, cause I am dying to learn more about this BEAST....o yeah...ive gotten a lot of head turns and pointing in one freaking day! Not as much as my svt though...

www.TURBOXS.comis a start. Their stage one kit is good, but if you're watching the warranty, be careful. Also, install an oil catch can (between the PCV valve and intake manifold)and high performance plug wires right away. The highest boost you want to run on the stock turbo is 18psi. I think the highest boost it will have without a boost controller is 7-8psi. Also, from my experience with altered suspension on these - Eibach is the way to go. I have them, SRTGURL has them, and I'm sure several others do too. Have fun with it! I love mine... and miss it terribly (winter in Maine sucks). I'm sure you'll love the head-turns you'll get. WELCOME TO THE SRT ELITE! lol
