Default dyno

i was looking at modernperfomance parts for car
and i saw a dyno with stage 1 + borla exhaust + k&n cai
and get only 237.7 hp and 252.8 max torque
and 12.2 air&fuel mix!(very lean)
do you guys think i need a take this dyno with consideration?
(go to modernperformance.com and go check the borla exhaust )
cheers!

Keep in mind, that dyno was done on an 03. So 230 (up from 215-220) is from Stage 1, with another 7 from the Borla. Makes sense to me. And don 't sweat the A/F, I don't recall the exact circumstances, but it's okay, your car won't do that.

You start to get up more, around 13 and you can start to have detonation problems.

237 WHP is sweet when you start to consider drivetrain lose, which I'm not really up on what the factor should be for a FWD car.

What is the factor? 12-15% maybe.

12-15 is the commonly accepted number for FWD losses. Heck, I never even think in crank numbers anymore. When looking at other makers numbers, I automatically slash some off for loss "Nissan XXXX has 230hp!!!!!" Becomes "Nissan XXX makes 190 whp!!!" and a slight correction, the 12.2 is just right, not lean at all. As seen here.

http://www.toyotaperformance.com/fuel_metering.htm

" 12.2:1 SAFE BEST POWER @ WOT"

In fact, our cars usually run rich, if anything, the PCM does this to keep EGT (exhaust gas tempreture) down.

Then that's frickin awesome! That's around 260-270 HP which is stout for a 2800# car. [sm=icon_rock.gif]
