parking lights
my parking lights stop working when it rains out side or i wash my car and by the next day i can change the fuse and it will work fine but last night i washed it and the lights went out and now they just keep poping the fuse as soon as u change it and turn on the lights does any one have any ideas
i would check the wiring from your fire wall to the park lights. you could put a bigger fuse but you could end up doing more damage cause there is a purpose for the amp size on the fuse. that wiring is grounding out some where or is bare somewhere and its causing the wire to heat up and blowing your fuse. id check out the wiring.
An idea? Yeah, you have a short to ground. You need to get a dvom and find it. So far, the fuse has been saving your butt. Try wetting the car as you would when you wash and see where the water is going. Wherever the water is contacting wiring is where I'd start looking first. In my vast experience, I'd start looking at the light assemblies first and go back through the wiring checking any and all connectors for intact weather packing and while doing so paying attention to areas where the wiring harness goes around sharp edges or is subject to vibrations (chaffing). It takes time and hard trouble shooting and I did a lot of this as a truck mechanic and they loved me for it. It is especially hard when you have an intermittent problem. If you are able to recreate the ground then you simply isolate sections of wiring and use the dvom to check for ground at various point untill you zero in on the location. FYI the rear tail lights on these cars have been found to be less than perfectly sealed/protected.
