lookin for some advice
whats up guys. Names Sean and i just wanted to ask some things. I have been into srt4s for quite some time now, just really havent gotten down to buying one yet. I got into cars when i was younger and now im a tech in my 3rd year of school, so i know my share but im no genius. Anyways i bought an sti and i really didnt research it at all, just saw it and thought it looked good and would ride well and yea i regret it. Dont get me wrong the sti has some powerful punch to her but just something i didnt like, about a week after i bought the sti i went out with my buddy who had an srt4, never really went crazy for it but i took a ride with him and well i fell in love. It wasnt 100% smooth but man you can just put words with that kick and the sound. Yea ive smoked a fair share of civics and integras and evos but im goin for the big dogs now. My buddy moved away bought a month ago and really havent had time to talk about me gettin a srt. So im asking you guys a few things. Now my friend had a stage 2 which really moved but i know there is a stage 3 and i havent driven a srt with a 3 in it but i have drove a 2 and i loved it. Now should i just take out a bigger debt and just go all out and get the stage 3 with toys and do it up the right way, or should i just build up from a 1 or 2. I really think i might as well just got for the 3 and just get this thing tuned to a T. I sawa stage 3 the other day at the track run a 10 flat without slicks and a bad reaction time...enough said. He didnt lose one race that night to a mustang, gto and a 397 ss chevy. Again those arent THE fastest cars out there but they are up there. So i wanted some advice from you guys, not insults. Dont just cut me down cause i once drove an sti i just want some help before i buy and know what im looking for and what i want. So any opinions are welcomed whether its about a turbo or any other toys and gadgets i can include. Thanks guys look forward for your answers, sorry this was so damn long.

you saw a s3 car run a 10 flaton street tires? yea ok. that guy was lying out his ***. that's no s3 car. the fastest s3 i've ever heard of is a 10.9 car and that was with a fully built motor and spraying on slicks with every bolt-on imaginable. hell kevin's car is only a 9.6s car and that's got a hell of a bigger turbo and a 2.6 stroker w/auto tranny. not a chance in hell that whatever car you saw was on a s3 turbo, sorry it's just not possible. believe me, i'm trying lol.
the stage kits are independent from each other, so no need to "work up" to a s3. just get a s3 kit. don't bother having the dealer put it on, it won't save your warranty and will cost you a hell of a lot more than just doing it yourself. but please buy the car first and get used to it before thowing on a s3, these are not the easiest cars to drive when you first get them and you can seriously hurt yourself, regarless of how much seat time you have.

I don't see a srt-4 running a 10 flat on street tires with a 500 shot of nitrous.......

i know the car you're talking about. it's no where near the fastest srt anymore. it was however the first srt into the 10s. it did it on the s3 turbo with a fully built motor, a 100 shot and a big set of slicks. and it barely broke the 10's. this guy is claiming to have seen a s3 car run a 10flat on street tires? that would make it at least a mid 9s car on a decent set of slicks, and there's not a chance in hell any s3 car is going to run a 9, it's just way too small a turbo. i love s3 and all but let's be realistic.
