Default E-Brake Issue....

I've been having an isue lately. When I "get on it" from a stop, my Brake light comes on. It only flashes a couple of times and only for a second or two. I haven't noticed any problems with my e-brake, I wonder if there is just something loose or if it's *gulp* an electrical problem. I will be taking it to the dealer this weekend. Just wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this issue.

One other thing. Anyone replaced their clutch yet? Mine is staring to feel a little spongy and I have to let it out a long way before it engages. I'm starting to feel more slip as well. Anyone got any suggestions?

Danny

Its because of your brakes wearing down. When your brakes wear down the brake pistons are pushed further out, causing your brake fluid to be low in the resivoir. It happens to alot of cars with decent or high mileage on them. Its NOT an electrical problem, and it is only when you accelerate hard. This is a common problem with these cars, and if you take it to the dealer they'll do the same thing you can do at home. Don't bother taking it into the dealer you can do it yourself. Buy some Mopar DOT 3 Brake Fluid, and dont top off the resivoir just put enough in to take care of the problem, the light will go away. Some cars have this problem at 5k miles, others further along the line. DOT 3 or DOT 4 will do it, but DOT 3 i believe is stock.

How many miles on the car??? If its an 04 you should have the clutch covered under the 3/36,000 if not the 12/12,000. If your worried about that, take it to get the clutch checked out. Some people reported a problem of their clutch feeling spongy then a few weeks later their flywheel bolts backed out (its a TSB, so you wouldn't pay for that) destroying their clutch.

I am having the same problem with my brake light. I also had the Flywheel problem happen to me, but they didn't replace the clutch b/c it didn't need it. Thanks for the tip on the brake light!
