You're preaching to the choir, I'm a cop here in Texas. The law reads no red or blue lights visible from the front, nothing is mentioned about "glow". As for the license plate thing, a front plate is required by law but in large metro areas most cops are too busy to mess with minor things like that. It's a different story in small towns that depend on traffic violation revenue for part of their budget. There's also a new law on the books about license plate frames.....the frames can't cover any of the "information" on the plate, including "TEXAS" at the top of the plate. The fine is a couple of hundred dollars if I remember right.

So can i ask what city your in? Also i dont think i wll take my front plate off. i have only had the car a week and every cop i pass takes 5 looks at it. So im not going to give them any fuel. I think i am going to put the lights on but Orng color and hide the bulbs also. I dont think red will look right with the Orng.

I have no front plate....then I put it on and got in trouble for having it on!?!!? Go figure....[:@]. Here in RI you need both plates....but I'm not putting the front one on my new bumper, no way Jose. I can deal with a 5-day tag. Thats fine by me. And in RI they can't pull you over for just that anyways....there has to be another reason.

It isn't my thing, but if you do you should also place one inside the scoop so it glows out through the opening, I think that would look pretty cool.

You read my mind lol I was thinking the same thing. Also badsrt4 YOU HAVE AN ORANGE ONE? In Dallas? The reason they want the front plate in Texas is cause laser needs good reflective surface to shoot at. They try the head light and the plate. The only real time they will bug you is when you act up. Like racing and they stop you or if you have an attitude with them. Then they get you for every little thing they can.

I tried doing that, and let me tell you what a PAIN in the *** that is!! I was so afraid of restricting airflow with the neon there, that I didn't care if it glowed or not. Maybe theres a better way to do it, I don't know, but its hard to get anything near there, AND wire it. Plus where the wire would have to come out (right near the turbo unless you customized it) would kinda warrant it burning I would believe...

Yeah same thing in RI, they won't pick on you only for a plate

There are actually two holes in which you can route the wires, it is where they designed in drain holes to keep water from building up and rusting out the hood. There is also a nice low valley spot that is where the holes are from that would fit a neon light as well. Here is a picture of the underside of the hood, the rectangle highlights where the light could go and the circles are the drain holes where the wiring can go through:
