Codes
Thats only if your throwing codes and have a problem....you can't just get a code to get one.
The car must be in the off position, and you have to do it FAST. It pops up anywhere from 3-5 turns to ACC mode. when its finished listing the codes. it'll say "dONE" Or if theres no codes you'll see ------

Sexy,
Please, if you are going to answer tech questions, look it up and be precise, or say your not sure. Or qualify your statement like RR did, saying "I think"
You can pull codes at any time, and the system can set codes with no check engine light, so it's wise to pull them any time the car is not acting properly.
It's not "anywhere from 3-5", it's three, and only three. More turns can get you into enabling or disabling the autolock and/or "all unlock with one press feature".
And the proper display will be either codes followed by "dONE" or just "dONE". That's it.
This may seem like small stuff, but when someone gets confused becuase of conflicting info, that sucks for them.

On the Allpar website it says from 3-5 turns for any DCX vehicle. Thats where I got my information from. Sometimes mine pops up at 3, other times it may take 4 or 5. Thats from my personal experience with it.
And thats exactly what I meant. If the car is acting funny, you can get a code from doing this. You can't just get a code to get one. There has to be something wrong with the car. Maybe I should've put it in simpler terms, or something less confusing to others, I apologize. And the car can throw codes with the CEL light off (i.e. the S1 code).
And my car displays ------ then "dONE" when there is no codes. When I get my car back I'll take a picture of it for you.

See, Sexy, that part of AllPar is just a collection of what users have reported. Note that they reported on their (Allpars)own car, it was three. One guy reporting 5 turns for his car, that number being different than any other reported case of a DCX vehicle, makes it suspect. Here's where having the factory book, or more than one instance you personally know of comes in handy. I would love to see a case where five quick turns makes it happen, but I don't think it's going to happen.
If yours takes 4-5 sometimes, you did not do it right those times. It's a computerized function, which takes a defined input to work, not some random number.
My point about the "done" display was this quote.
"Or if theres no codes you'll see ------" which is wrong. You will see that and then done, but never just ----. My point is that these are folks who most likely have not done this kind of thing before. Any ambiguity or possibility of misunderstanding makes it harder on them.
I did say you can have codes set with no CEL, my point was that you can perform the code check anytime, not just when something is wrong. . You just get the done.

Yeah mine does take 4-5 sometimes. And I usually do it once a week at the least just to make sure. One time i did just see the ------. And I was like...wtf? Another member on SRTforums saw the same thing. That was the first time I tried to check for codes. So I did it again and got ------- dONE. I may not be doing it right those times, but anywhere from 3-5 works for me.
