Yea..it's like that for a lot of cars. It's rare that I even use 1st unless I am stopped on a steep hill. I also never downshift unless I need to stop suddenly.

When I was learning to drive, most folks had manual trannys with the shifter mounted on the steering column!!! Times change.
Yeah, I had a 1970 Saab with four-on-the-tree! Ah, the good ol' days...

Mine works fine upshifting, but going into second from third varies and going from second into first while moving is a pain in the ***, it doesn't want to go in to save my life.[:@]

I have to drive over/under/around/through several sets of "speed bumps" on my way to and from work each day which requires a downshift to either 1st or 2nd. The engine lugs a bit if I leave it in 2nd, but I'd rather do that than fight with the tranny all the time....

BigMac,

I read your post and I have had the exact same problem. This is definitely a problem with the transmission. It is a matter of time before we have serious problems with it, hopefully our dealerships will be able to either repair or replace our transmissions.

Well i finally bought my SRT-4 on Monday. It is an 05 and i love it so far, will post pics of it once the weather gets better.

The shifting seems a litttle tight to me, the only time it seems hard to shift is when i downshift. As far us running up the gears i have no problem at all. For some reason from 4 to 3 feels like there is some resistance there.
