I just got my SRT-4 last week and i thought it was one hell of a piece of machinery for the price. After spending some time on this forum and reading about upgrades and performance enhancers, i went from thinking i bought a car well within my means to seeing that i will be broke!!!!!!!

Btw i love this car and i wish i didnt have to use it for work and run up the miles. But the plus side is i get from sale call to sale call a helluva lot faster now.

You guys should sticky a thread for nOObs like me and list what should be done to the car first. Also, Sexy i see you are the picture queen around here. Do you have any pics of sound systems that optimize the space in the trunk? In my last car (Saturn SC2) i had 3- 12" subs with a 2400 watt amp and it took up almost 3/4 of my trunk. I am looking for some space saving ideas for my subs, the amp can just be mounted on the back seat. I saw one pic that had 2- 10" subs where the 6x9's are, but it didnt look like they were sealed in any kind of enclosure except for the trunk. Which would result in a loss of clear bass.

Anyone have any pics or ideas? I already have the factory 10" Kicker but that aint sh*t.

No you shouldnt be paying full retail SRT4@40....its an 04....get them at 1% above invoice.

Heres some audio.
The Kicker Strut is patent pending. I dont know of anyone else who has it.
And the red/black one I have no views from the back. The kicker slanty set up seems to keep most of the trunk still intact. I like that setup alot.

Thanks Sexy, if you come across nemore pics of sub's in a SRT i would appreciate it. I am not innovative enough to come up with my own space saving design. Maybe i will do some searching around for some ideas. But thanks again girl.

Anytime hunn. I really like that Kicker setup the best. Your best bet if you really want to save space. Is to take out the spare tire and jack...and have a custom enclosure mounted in that hole with the Subwoofer facing upwards. The sub will have enough to bounce around in if the enclosure is made right for an excellent sound. Facing backwards or straight upwards are the best positions. But if you do it that way...and attempt to mount the amp underneath as well, sunken down.....you'll keep your whole trunk I'd just invest in a cargo net and some cargo net holders to keep your stuff away from the sub. This way you can get a rear strut bar from DC Sports while your at it

Probably a good idea. Same with the cargo net too. My first box i had with two 12's in it, had my briefcase slide into it and rupture the speaker. I then put grille's on the speakers. But my current subs stick out of the box really far and i cant find a grille that is thick enough.

I know my ex had a Kicker setup and had this box with HUGE grilles on it. If you have the net though, I don't think you'd even need the grilles on the subs. What type of subs are they?

They are called "Concepts". I'm not too sure how popular they are but they sound just as good if not better then my JL's that i had. I had three 10' in my Chevy S-10 (some years ago) and it got reprosesed. They sold the whole truck for $500 UGH. The speakers were more then that.
