Default Problem with factory shift ****

I just installed the Maddog 58% STS and now when I shift hard into 2nd the **** pops off, has this happened to anyone else? Is there a company that makes a better shift **** that looks like the factory one or should I just get an aftermarket one, like the ones that have the 4 alan head screw on it to mount it? Thought idea's??

Thanks

It's a common problem, especially after the **** has been removed once or twice. You could try taking the **** off and prying the lock tab out more to get it to fasten more securely. Try not to pull up on the **** when shifting, especially in 2nd and 4th gear.

Go to Modernperformance.com. They have a polished aluminum shift **** with like 8 set screws. Its a exact replica of the factory **** but really shiny. That thing will never come off.

I filled the **** with black silicone then put it on and let it set up over night. Worked surprisingly well. never had a problem after that, and even whenI wanted to get it of it was pretty stubborn. I eventually went aftermarket just for the look.
