wtf does the catchcan do
pretty much i have seen alot of catch cans on srt-4 sites...but because it dosnt look or sound like it make me go faster, i ignored them. but thanks to the posting on this site i have realized it may be crucial for me to use. i currently have stage one kit, cold air intake, msd ignition, hks ssq bov. where should i go for my catch can, and what knid should i use.....and most importantly....where does it go and what on earth does it do.
pull a hose off the intercooler and you'll see why you need a catch can. with your cai, your best bet would probably be one of the transmission/battery tray mounted cans. the upper motor mount style cans work pretty well with the factory style mount. i had the agp motor mount style and the fit wasn't great, but it caught oil real well. the jmb i have now fits better and has a sight glass, but by design it doesn't catch as much oil. i havethe factory airbox, so my larger occ i have installed to catch the nasty vent sludge that ends up in the bottom of the airbiox is tucked away behind the driver's side fender. a check valve is another option to consider.

routing it: (the yellow is the one to be more concerned with). and it really attaches to the intake mainfold, not the throttle body. although they are side by side

here is what it 'catches'

and a little bit better of a design, since gravity makes the liquid fall, why not try to prevent it from 'blowing through' the catch can as well by putting the inlet below the outlet? only down side is emptying more often.
It also makes the folks at your favorite garage scratch their head in wonder and ask, "What IS that thing?"

. i use to be the same way with OCC's i don't need that crap it doesn't make me go fast until i was replacing my stock intercooler pipes with hard ones and i seen all the oil dripping out i lost my mind and i went around asking everyone with a srt around here if they had the same problem then they just laughed at me for a second then took a deep breath and laughed again then finally told me its normal and that i need to get a OCC. and the moral of this story my friends is that our neons poop in cans
