Default Clutch Travel Issue

I recently bought a 2005 PT Cruiser Convertible with the 2.4 HO motor and five speed. I love the car but my wife is not thrilled with it. She has a problem fully engaging the clutch. She's a bit over five feet tall. I've read the SRT-4 Neon has a much shorter clutch travel than the PT. Can anyone give me suggestions as to parts from the SRT-4 that I could swap in to shorten the required clutch travel? I think the clutch is adjusted correctly. It has about 3/4 inch free travel.

Thanks,

Mike

SRT4 clutch may or may not work. it does engage much better than my sxt did. the sxt felt very 'mushy' compared to the srt, it was harder to determine exactly where it engaged at. not sure if the srt clutch would work in your pt cruiser. same basic paltform and all but some of the parts of the drivetrain do differ a little. perhaps you could consider an aftermarket clutch for your pt?

Have you tried adjusting the pedal. There will be a 8mm bolt that is at the back of the pedal near the firewall that you can adjust the height of the pedal a bit which will help with the travel.
