i am in the market for a new IC,I was just wondering how much of a difference their is between the name brand intercoolers such as spearco, AGP, Perrin.... and the cheaper one's such as GODSPEEDnormally found on ebay for around $200-260?

im sure their is a better flow rate for name brand reputable IC's (you get what you pay for), but is their enough difference between the 2 to make the average $650-900 priceworth it over the much cheaper price???

for the perrin and the spearco, no. they're just rediculous. but the agp, cti, and ed ones are definetly worth the money over the cheap ebay ones.

better flow rates, better cooling ability, better end tank design,and they don't crack at the welds.

 

thanks a lot... i think ill go with a big AGP IC.... it's probably worth it in the long run, i plan on having this srt 4 for a very long time and need an IC that can hold up....

The only worry i had was the crash bar removal, i guess i can fabricate some steel or chromoly around the new IC...

better safe than sorry...

 

slowboy makes a replacement crash bar. it's not the best in the world but it's better than nothing. i have it, because like you said, better safe than sorry.
