Should I get one?
It's fine. If anything, for a new driver, the wrx and srt-4 are too fast IMO.
Other than that, the srt-4 is a great car. Every car has it's limits. As long as you're not being stupid and reckless you'll be fine. RWD, FWD, and AWD all have pros and cons. With a RWD, you can fish tail. A FWD vehicle is easier to control under hard acceleration vs a RWD.

I dont think either of these cars should be one of your "first" cars to drive....too much power.....start off with a slow camaro lol...
sounds like youre looking for the faster car to me....all i can say is ive never lost a race to a sti or a evo....and im not super modded either....

the srt4 is a fun car. its a great daily driver and you can be a weekend warrior at the track if you choose. just consider whether getting a car with a good bit of power is the best chioce for your first car. my first car had about 90hp but i was thrilled just to have a car.
not to be an *** or anything..but i think ur too young for a car this fast (you need more driving experince 1st)..more and more young kids are getting killed in car accidents..especally here in ct..its a good car to have but once u get the itch for speed it becomes a deadly weapon...if you think ur mature enough then go for it but only you can know yourself...good luck
its a matter of respecting the power of the car. use it with maturity and respect for it, youll be better off than if you abuse the power of the car. i dont get into it very much, just enjoy driving the car and pushing myself back in my seat every now and again. start going around street racing every yahoo with a fart cannon and youll be setting yourself up for failure.
like said at the end of the last page, youll sense if what your doing is right or not, you have to be the one to determine your responsibility level. much like getting a bike, some 16/17 yr olds can handleresponsibility better than some 25 year olds... but its a case-by-case basis.
just remember that showing off for your 'buddies' isnt worth ruining your life over. at least i noted one positive thing is you planned on taking it to the track!!!
its gonna have to be a call between you and your rents. me personally, when my kid turns 16 ill go for a decent sized, moderatley powered car like a family car. econoboxes are death traps imo.

Everyone's planning my death already!
I'm pretty confident in my decision making...
I don't drink or smoke, or anything that would put me in a predicament in which I can't control myself.
I plan to do any racing legally, on a strip in which the only person in danger is myself, and i'll be safer non the less, with ambulance on stand-by.
Now, if lets say I hope not, I get in an accident, how is the SRT known to hold up vs. the wrx?
Also, I know the WRX with AWD, will have the SRT in turns and what not, but regardless, how is the SRT in turning, handling, maintaining control, ETC?
Also, reliability?
