You all forget what she said this is her friend and she is trying not to loose him. Just talk to the guy and tell him that the guy should have checked when they installed the wheels. You know a couple of turns would not have hurt anything. If he is a real friend he will step up to the plate and do the right thing for you. Sorry to hear about your car i can only imagine what you are feeling right now. Did you chew off your nails already? Man this whole thing has been one nightmare after another i feel for you.

Yeah it has been on nightmare after another. .

Andy: The rims are 18x8, on 225/40R/18 M&S tires. The rim company told me on two seperate occasions, and Bobby 5 times when he ordered, that the rims would fit no issue. But thats no reason for Scottie not to check them. I did do all my research on these rims. I'm the first SRT in the nation with them on, so no one else had any issues. Apparently they fit the NEON fine, due to the smaller calipers. And the idiots at the rim company didn't know that an SRT-4 wasn't just a "trim level". So I did do my research, and as far as the SRT and this rim went, I had jack to go by.

Jeff: I know the owner, I've been talking to him all along, and he's STILL telling me that its the rim companies fault. But like I said he's good friends with my best friend, and I don't want to lose my best friend, or cause him to lose Bobby as a friend because of this. Which is why I've kinda been in the dark about it all, and stepping back. Paul said that its Bobbys responsibilty and the rim isn't safe to drive on....but I doubt that I'm really gonna get anywhere, which bothers me.

Mitch: I'm afraid that the insurance company would flip out about the fact that I used aftermarket parts. However someone else told me that it doesn't matter how you spend the money on your car, as long as its fixed. Is that right? But I don't even wanna threaten anyone with a lawyer, that'll freeze things up and Ill get nowhere. Id rather handle it another way. But if I can call my insurance company and do it that way I will. They're giving me hell about extending my rental some more. They're like WHY do you need this car longer, its already been 3 months?

Javier: Yeah....my nails are like gone...I've been livid for days. I don't even get out of my bed to do anything....I'm depressed beyond belief. People are like "but its just a car". But its my world, its like my child. When I went to the shop, I was curled in a ball on the floor laying next to my car trying not to cry. I want my car back SO bad...this is taking way too long.

Let me tell you a sad story,
A few years ago, I bought my wife a new car, a 2001 neon. Not expensive, or a hot car, but it was our first new car.

We decided to take our new baby to the Jersey Shore, our first trip. She even said I could drive, I was shocked.

So here we are, crusing down the Schuckill Expressway (We call it the Shure Kill Expressway)
Riding in traffic, my first time behind the wheel.

Out of no where traffic goes from 60-5mph in less than 3 seconds.

Wheels are squeeling ABS is pumpin, but to no avail

CRASH!!!!!!!!

So there it is, 5,500 miles, my first time driving the car, In the body shop for 4.5 months. $10,987 worth of damage.

Neddles to say, the old lady was NOT happy.

Car is towed to Collex, "No problem sir, you'll have it back in 3 weeks" He said.

Then they tried to install aftermarket body parts on the car, and the insurance diddn't want to pay........

Allstate said they should have totaled the car...........

What a nightmare.

I feel your pain.

I can understand where your comming from on this.1st off i wanna say i am also formerally of rhode island ,i purchased my 01 dodge ram from paul baileys in north kingstown .I had a incident after owning my truck for less than 1 month just paid the registration and the 1st truck payment. After it sitting in a parking lot (kingston bowl) someone asked me if that was my brand new truck outside? I said"yes it is" they said"well someone just backed into it and took off" i was like WTF i just got the truck and it doesnt even have 1000 miles on it.Then i come to find out the brush n grille guard that was a dealership bolt on that was factory was 700.00 and they dont have them anymore.Oh great here we go w/ a massive drama scene.I ended up putting a aftermarket one on(still on to this day) and i ended up having to use another car while it was getting fixed cause allstate didnt have rental reinbursment on the policy.I know what your going thru there i hope all well for you.before this incident i mentioned happen before i picked up the truck it had some scratches in the bed,i asked them to take a look at them and they said we can fix them but it be a few days.Ok no problem (WRONG) i went back 3 times w/it after they fixed it they wouldnt even give me a rental at 1st i told them "look i just spent 24k w/ you people and you wont even let me borrow a car while you fix this?" We went at it but luckily on their part they took 1 off the lot for me to use till they fixed it.
sorry to make it so long but i know rhode island body shops i use to work at alot of them so i know what your going thru.
thanks

UPDATE!

So he calls me this morning and says theres no way the wheels will fit. The spacers the company sent were 1/4 inch spacers. So the studs aren't long enough. Now I'm not buying studs to stick a fkn rim on a car. I'll find new rims for that cost. Now we have the issue of trying to get the company to take the wheels back. He's gonna call me back later today. I don't want wheels on my car that only have 1/2 the threading on them that there supposed to. Not safe.

He said he'll fix the caliper thats not a problem, and I'll have to find some new wheels. Sunvabeech this is a headache. But at least theres some sort of solution.

Sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having with this experience. I totally know what u mean about it being like a child to you. I love mine too. I hope you get this problem resolved as quickly as possible with no one suffering any emotional (or physical) pain. I hate the fact that I have and love this car but all the other crew chiefs that I work with are all about the muscle (8 cylinder) cars. So, all I get is **** from them for having a turbo neon.[:@] Well I hope everything works out great for you...and it wont be long till i get back to my black beauty also.

you ain't going to get the company to take the wheels back. Since the idiot that installed them didn't check to make sure they fit with no problem's and then destroyed the front rim's. I've personally have never been to a body shop that dosen't prefit part's ie: body kit, aftermarket stock body panal's, and wheel's and tire's. Hopefully they will take the 2 non-damaged rim's back but the bodyshop's going to have to reimburse u for the rim's they damaged. And if anyone here goes to a body shop that blame's it on they other company because of his mess up dosen't belong getting any of our business friend of a friend or not. Just my 2 cent's. Hopefully everthing will workout for you sexy.
