Sunroof won't close properly at speed...
My wife's '03 SXT sunroof worked fine. The new '05 SRT-4 seems similar - but occasionally 'jams' with the driver's side rear still slightly up. A check with the dealer's computer revealed a technical bulletin on this - and a repair kit, which is not yet available. The current advise is to open/close at low speeds, where wind pressure will not bear in the equation... and await the 'fix'.

Hmmm didn't know about teh bulletin. I don't really keep up but I remember mine wouldn't close sometimes if I opened the glass before the sliding cover. I just had to push it and it would pop. Cheezy huh? Still love my rocket though.
If you read the Owners manual it tells you that you should not operate the roof at speeds close to 70 mh. If you do this could cause the sun roof to jam.

only problem i have with the sunroof in my car is thats its turtle slow. the other day as i was driving down the road, it had ranied a few hours before, well this 18 wheeler beat me to a nice sized puddle of water, i have gotten used to driving a small car since i have had my car, and look out for both water on my side and the other side of the road, well im thumbing the close button as i had the sunroof all the way open, it was almost to the point were it would touch the seal and start down, and i got soaked by like a gallon of nasty, dirty, puddle water. and i havent had it all the way open since then. the other problem is that it makes a lot of wind noise.
Firstly, I don't get to drive the rocket very often at all... it is my wife's car. She ordered it to replace her appropriately yellow '03 Neon SXT, object of a D-C 'Buy Back' (aka 'Lemon Law'...). I drive the 'Soccer Mom's Car'.... my new '05 Jeep Liberty. Of course, she loves to point out other Liberty's... and, their predominately female drivers. I don't care... I drove, and rebuilt, Alfa Romeo's for years - mostly sedans, but including one rare 4-seat convertible, a 1966 Giulia GTC. My wife's pre-Neon car was a '95 LeBaron GTC convertible, whose troublesome window-winder motors and hydraulic top-lift made my all-manual Alfa a far better memory in retrospect. That killed my desire for a removeable top - or even a sun/moon roof. I bought what I wanted this time... despite my nearly fifteen years with a 90 Shadow ES turbo 5sp, bought new literally off the showroom floor (They couldn't give away 5sp!), being a positive experience. I love my Jeep!
Secondly, her highway driving has been at 'rush hour' speeds - 40-60mph. The faults have all occured under 60mph. To have a 'fix' so early in a production run implies an acknowledged design/production problem. We shall await the 'fix'.
Two things NOT to get on a new SRT-4: sunroof or Kicker audio with sub-woofer. The first can leave you wet, the second can only be heard over the exhaust if you lay the rear seatback(s) down! Enjoy being dry... and relish that exhaust!

I have a new SRT-4 and I haven't had any problems with my sunroof yet. I really like the kicker system for stock anyway. That may change when we put in a new Exhaust today. The only thing I had problems with was water leaking in through a faulty seal in the windshield.
It took the dealership forever to find out what was going on. They had my car for 2 weeks. I think it's fixed now. How many miles is on your wife’s car Stainz05?

you know when the 04's came out i was jealous that they had sunroof's and mine didn't. i love sunroofs and i would have gotten one for my srt. but after hearing the issues with them, i'm glad that i didn't get one. and i've heard a few other people say that the kicker system is a waste as you can't really hear it. interesting stuff........
Actually, I like my sunroof. It is really quiet when it is open, and I have not yet had any problems with it. I open it ten times a day too. I agree with PSI chick, it is nice to have a sunroof. There is an aftermarket roof that does not require drains, and is power. I think Webasto industries makes it. It is a nice unit too, expect to pay about $1000.00. My wifes Stratus Coupe factory sunroof is a piece of ****. It rattles and the wind roar is unbearable. By the way, yes the Kicker system isn't all it's cracked up to be. You need to fold down the right rear seat back to hear the Sub.
love my sunroof- no probs whatsoever.
the kicker system is equal to what you pay for it- the first thing i normally do with a new car is put a new system in it, so i thought i would try the kicker system (I usually use a lot of kicker components anyway, along with mb quart). for the money you pay, i think you actually get a pretty good system- no it's not teeth rattling, but it doesn't cost two grand either. as for the sub, i just leave the rear driver's side seat folded down (like ripsiguy said, i just noticed) and the bass is pretty good.
just my .02.
