Hi all, does anybody know ifthe modular clutch for a 2.0 neon looks exactly the same as the SRT-4 clutch? And if it does and the Neon clutch was put into the SRT-4. Would it ruin the tranny? Specifically 3rd gear.I dont think so. Worse case I would think is the Neon clutch would slip easier than the SRT one. ( see my other post Tranny problems anyone else? )
Also does anyone have part numbers for the 2.0 Neon modular clutch.I have the 3 part numbers for the SRT4 clutch already. My part numbers on the old clutch facefrom '03 and '06 all match but the numbers on the pressure plates are different. Yes I know these are one piece clutches rivited together but I opened them to try to find any difference before I go and challange the dealer. Thanks all.

 

i don't have part numbers, but the regular neon clutch is actually larger in diameter and the flexplate won't fit inside the bellhousing (there are people on .org that are modifying srt clutches to fit on other neons). so if you tried to just put it on, it wouldn't go on.

 

Thanks so much for the info. This dealer is trying to tell me now that the wrong clutch was in the car. Good thing I fishedthe old clutchout of their garbagewhen I picked up the car.My meeting with the owner and gen manager of the dealer has been pushed back to this Monday.
