last sunday was opening day at the national trails raceway track for test and tune... this was the first time i took my car to the track since i bought it in january, it was a blast...while i was there i happened to notice another srt4 in line and started to talk, i noticed that he had 245 size tires on the stock 6" wide rim, i couldn't believe it.. the side walls were bulging over the rim 2" out... he said that he hasn't ever had a problem with them...

i was wondering what would be the safest maximum size that i could fit on my stock rim?? i have no traction and all wheel hop with my 205's.... i still ran a 13.8 which isnt to bad, but ipeeled outthrough 2nd gear... i was thinking 225's

 

Get some dog bone motor mount it will take care of most of your wheel hop.

 

i wouldn't go larger than a 215 on a stock rim, it just gets dangerous after that

 

I agree, and even 215's would make me uncomfortable...

 

i work at a tire shop and ive put 225's on all day long the high speed balance will be a lil off but it shouldnt matter on the strip

205 is ideal, 215 is dangerous. 245 is a deathwish! Play it safe and stick below 215. If you want wider tires, get a wider rim.
