Default Slipping stock clutch

Anyone have the slipping clutch problem? In 2nd gear mine will slip, but only during "spirited" acceleration. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what the outcome of any encounter with your dealer was like. The car has 17K on it now and it is a 2003. I am just so expecting the dealer will be an *** about it when I bring it in. I guess if I have to pop for the repair myself (which would be ridiculous as it is a completely stock car) I will upgrade to a better clutch, it seems to have failed way early for the way I drive this car. I mean the thing gets half or the year off just sitting in the garage.

clutch has a 12mo/12k warranty on it. you're over, they're not gonna do anything about it. time for a new clutch....

ps - stay away from the spec 3's....

Yep, the clutch and the brake pads are wearable parts and are not covered under the drivetrain or bumper to bumper warranty.

So if its the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder that has failed (or Intermittently) would that be covered? My clutch has only sipped like twice that I have noticed. The dealer acted like I expected when I contacted them this morning, loggey & dim witted. They want 500 bucks for a "stock" clutch assembly part that will just do the same thing as the old one with a crappy clutch master cyliner. What clutch is a good one to get and has anyone else had problems with their clutch master (or) slave cylinders? Is it very hard to drop the tranny to put this POS in myself?

my slave cylinder was replaced at 2500 miles. i've had nothing but problems ever since. my tranny has been complete crap. i have not had any issues with my clutch however, 15k miles, 3 dyno passes, and probably 100 track passes and it's holding just fine.

i doubt that they would cover the clutch even if the master cylinder or slave cylinder went. when i called dcx to complain about the dealership's lack of help with my transmission problems they told me that i needed to get it taken care of in the first year or even if they do fix the tranny they would not cover the clutch if it's past the 12mo/12k line.

i would recommend the clutchmasters stage 4. very nice clutch and not too horribly priced. if you're looking for something a little more streetable, mopar has released an upgraded clutch. it's enough to handle s3, but not much more. people have reported good things about the centerforce dual friction as well, but i do not hear about this clutch as much as the others.
