Sorry, when was the last time you drove an evo? The rs was availbe (evo 9) for about 28,000. If you start to look a little closer, you will see the upgrades. awd, recaro seats, brembo 4pot brakes, enkei light wieght wheels(not 6in pizza cutters), momo steering wheeel, one to one streering, yoko advans, aluminum roof fenders hood, stock turbo good for close to 400hp, a much better suspention, more stock horsepower, variable valve timing, brake cooing ducts and divertert(something I am trying to find for the srt4 cause of brake fade, never had brake fad with the stock setup on the evo)....and am sure there is more. I remember a year or two back there was an ultimate car comparison, with fully tuned cars, yeah the srt4 won the fwd, but evo was overall winnner. If you think you can upgrade all the areas I mentioned, and still come in at under 28,000, than maybe I am wrong, but from driving both and owning both, they are pretty much stock, the evo is my first choice.

Yeah Evo's are special and I know all that, but they are expensive. I would expect all that you listed on such an expensive car and nothing less, whoever made it. The EVO X I ran yesterday listed for 39,000 buckaroos. That's a whole lot of money in my book. There is so muchI'd rather do with 39,000 dollars, that's all I'm saying. Right now I'm having hella fun with my 21,500 dollar car and it will get much better for a few thousand more if finances go my way. You couldnt sell me an EVO. No way. Awesome as they might be,I'd be way more likely to buy another used SRT-4 like Dusty's for 11,000 or whatever, throw a few grand at it and have a dedicated track car. A really fast, inexpensive and goodhandling track car. But this is just me I guess.

BTW, if I just HAD to have awd, I personally, would be looking at an Audi, probably used, probably an S4, early 2000's, biturbo.

Both cars have their pro's and cons. i have thrown about 5,000 into my car and i have eaten evo's up, even an evo runnin 30 psi but I still have much respect for the awd 4g63t. That can be a 1000hp monster, but i still luv my skittle

Ive taken supras...wrx's....and one brand new evo...havent got the chance to race a sti yet...i took a z28 camaro with work done to it (downhill) lol

the srt-4 is a very fast lil piece of car....i always compare my car to other cars like pressurecooker...yeah it may be faster...but the car itself costs 20 more grand...if i had 20 more grand invested in my car it wouldnt be as fast as my car at all...not even close...lol

OK, then I hear all this stuff...but how do the SRT-4's compare to the new 2008 Cobalt SS with its direct injection 2.0 pushing 260 HP...I see it's not supercharged but Turbocharged now!!!!

I wonder if anyone has had experince with one of these yet!

Not to beat a dead horse, but if you keep comparing the two cars(srt4 & evo), and your only critirea is winning on a quick drag race, you really should start DRIVING more cars. How can you people base your opinions on, "This guy with a modded srt4 beat this evo once, the srt4 must be better, and heck its cheaper to boot, think of all the mods you can do." Well you can't buy a better trans very cheap, I read on here about trans problems all the time. And with the crappy dodge dealers always denying claims....while the evo has a short shifter stock, smooth(exept the 6 speed is a bit notchy) and seem to have a good rep for holding up. Plus the evo came with a 10/100,000 mile warranty, and the parts/service guy said mods are not a problem, within reason. Just the other day at the track my buddy with an 05 acr had two lug nuts not come off, had to twist the studs off to change the track tires out. And at the track, lots of evos gettin beat, and holding up. Seems the suburus are always breaking down, and the acr would keep throwing power steering codes, and his brakes keep fading to(one of a few reasons I don't track the srt).

By the way pressurecooker, rode in an rs4 at the track, and man o man it is nice. It is extremely forgiving, they did an outstanding job on the traction control. The guy was hung over pretty bad, and the car just wouldn't go out of control. The v8 sounded awsome to(thanks to fabtec). But that is one pricey car, but in europe that car is winning a lot of races. Oh and the biturbos really, really suck. Just a bad engine.

There is a guy here in town that bought the new evo 10 I think, 40,000 for the car, I hope he will take it to the track, I have alot done to the SRT-4 I know I will own his butt. On the street, the evo and WRX STI will get you off the line, the AWD is nasty against a FWD car, but on a roll with some mods, a SRT-4 could take it. I alway have trouble getting off the line. I got owned one time by a V-6 mustang, spun all the way to 3rd gear. (Driving lessons i know) there is a stock turbo SRT-4 with bolt on mods, running 12.1 at the track.

I do like the EVO's and if i had 40000 for a new one i would get one, but if i was going to drop big money on a car, i would spend it on the new GTR, runs 11.7 stock. but it is 70,000. Just my two cents.
