Default first runs of 2008

Ok, I'm back on stock suspension and stock 205 KDW's from the lowered car and 225's of last year because they are bald and the lowering would not work on these roads.

As many of you already know, I have a black '04 with stage 2 and exhaust. My best times in my sig.

Today, in Martin,Mich it struggled to hit the mid 50'sand was windy and partly sunny.

I ran 5 times. All 13.1's exceptthe first which was 13.2 I think. Mph ranged from 107 to 109, three being 108. All 60's were 2.1's.

Nothing spectacular or groundbreaking I know. No record for me. Just getting a baseline for future improvements.

The best part of today was what I won and lost to. I won 3 and lost 2. My wins were against my buddies stage 3 Srt,but it was his first time to the track so this was to be expected. He learned a lot. I creamated a brand new 39,000 dollar EVO aaannnd a 2002-ish Black T/A. My losses were maybe what I was most happy with though as I very nearly beat a 600cc (I'm guessing) crotch rocket with a pipe. I hole shotted him badly and it took him the whole track to catch me and passed me at the line with only a 7 mph advantage. I really thought I was going to beat him. My last run I lost tothe mandatory Martin drag vehicle, a v-8 Chevy s-10. Everybody and thier brother has one. There's so freakin many of them, I race 1 probably every time I go there, and have not ran the same one twice! LOL Well he was full drag with open headers, huge slicks and skinny's up front. He of course launched with like a 1.5 60 ft and jumped out on me by about 3-4 cars, but much to my surprise, I started to run him down on top, and was at his rear bumper at the finish, his 12.9 at 105 to my 13.1 at 108. Damn! that puts the chevy s-10 crowd 1 up on me now. LOL. We were even before. I think I'm done with the track until I'm low 12's capable. I got take it easy on the ol girl as she has 40K on her and is still my daily driver.

Here's a vid. My buddy on the left has a stage 3 but missed 2 shifts;

Awesome, I hear race tracks are hella better than just racing on the street. No tracks around here, closest one is in Amarillo. I'm heading down there or to OKC some weekend after I graduate to run my car.

Nice runs friend!

Yeah the kid with the stage 3 was a track noob, he was also running with his boost dialed down and switching it to a higher setting down the track. Like it would act as traction control. I advised him to just leave everything on high and concentrate on driving, but some people just got to learn for themselves. His friends wanted me to drive his car for him but he'd have none of that either. Oh well.

Someone posted up a bunch of vids of the dayon my other forum. I'll find the link later tonight and post it up. Right now I gotta go to work.

Well I checked and the link to the free web hosting had already expired. Sorry. I have themall the runs that were filmed saved on my computer but the files are huge. So I cant load them up here. It took me an hour and a half with high speed cable to down load all them to my computer from the hosts site.

As far as futuremodsgo, I am keeping hush hush. It has been a bad financial year for us so the things I'll be doing are of the sneaky skunkworks variety, thatI can do at home, myself, for cheap. Nothing that requires much money (like a large turbo)Keep in mind I am a mechanic and I own a few tools, and have access to a variety of machines and similarly skilled friends. I have saidto my peeps here that I dont want to go back to the track until I can run a deep 12 or better. I dont even know myself if this will be possible this year or not. Some stuff is just gonna have to be bought, so we'll see.
