Well it's been a 90 day love affair with my 3 month old SRT-4,and since I bought virtually all the warranty packages Dodge offered, it's time to take the little beast in for a 3 month oil change...anyone had any experience in this? Like what is the usual cost and do they say anything about any mods or try and sell you anything you don't need (e.g. Jiffy Lube, etc.). My condo complex won't let me change my oil on "their" property...

I run mobile 1 syn 10w-40 in mine and have from the first oil change, with no problems. Sorry don't know of any one running AMSOIL in an srt yet, but a few in ricers who seem to like it.

When did the info come out about the 5W-30? I just talked to my dealer a few weeks ago and they said to use the 10W-30 so I stocked up on several cases. I live in south Texas where it rarely gets below freezing...

They sent a letter to me as well saying that a mistake was in the handbook and that the srt-4 5w-30 is recommended. i also talked to the dealership at my 15,000 mile oil lube last week and they said that it was for every oil change not just for winter

5W30 is a bit to thin for my tastes in the summer. The only difference between the two is the oils pour ability when it is cold, how thick or thin it is. They are both the same at operating temperatures.
