new clutch
So i put it all in at it seemed to go well but my battery is dead so I was gonna push start it but my clutch feels squishy and i think it needs to be bled. How do i go about bleeding my clutch?
When I changed out my clutch fluid on my sxt to full syn. the way my dad and I found out to get all the air out you need to back flush the hose, disconnect from the slave cylinder on the trans, get a hoseand connect it to it, then with a suction bulb, pull the fluid out of the reservoir, then get the fresh stuff and squeeze it into the hose that you connected, my dad said ours were called a phoenix system, its wierd. And jsut repeat until you get the clean fresh fluid up to the reservoir. Or use two suction bulbs one for old fluid the other for new. It works, the pedal felt great afterward, we tried the whole pump thing and got nowhere, this worked. If you need me to explain more just pm me.
I jumped my car and and pumped the clutch while it was running and it went in gear fine, the pedal still feels squishy tho, and I went to pull it out of the drive way and this clutch is waaayy different than my last and it grabbed with a quickness and I killed it. The guage cluster where it says the miles was flashing "fuse" what does this mean? and Other than what moparmatt said is there any other way so bleed the clutch? Thanks for the help this is my first clutch removal/install so I am a little confused on how to do this since our cars are so much different than hondas, which I can work on with my eyes closed.... please any advice is more than welcome.... thanks again
I figuerd out how to bleed thu clutch, You dont need a suction bulb. On the front side of the tranny there is a little black square cover, take that off and depress the fork with your fingerstowards the driverside. and then pump the clutch pedallike you were bleeding brakes. Contiune this until there is no more air....
"Fuse" means your battery is trash, buy a new one. I have the Mopar Clutch, I'm not huge into power like most people and its a kickass clutch, but thats besides the point since you already bought one. I never had to bleed my clutch so thats the first I'm hearing about that process. Everything a-ok now?
Usually means bad battery from my experience. In the 8 cars I've seen display "FUSE" the battery was the cause each and every time. Its one of the first things to check when it says "FUSE". But if you want to be technical, it could be the ASD fuse powering the PCM, or ANY fuse in the engine bay PDC or interior PDC. Generally its a sign of a bad battery, especially if the car has been sitting for awhile due to a repair.
Ya everything is fine, unfortunately PSI chick was right I dont think this clutch is gonna hold well, It seems like it is already slipping, and the clutch still feels soft even after "bleeding", And apparently there are clips that hold the shifter cables into a bracket and one of them popped off and I lost it so i need another. I returned my battery cuz it was under warranty and I no longer have "fuse" on my odometer
