car acts like it running out of gas
So under normal acceleration and at normal driving on the highway my car will start to buck really bad and it did die once so a I took it to the dealer and told them what it was doing and it did not throw any codes? So they took it back and 2 hours later they told me that they are going to replace my throttle body, TPS, TPS harness and my intercooler because they are full of oil (I do have a cc) Has this happened to anyone and does that sound like it will fix my problem? Thanks
sounds like dealer is screwing you... get the parts they say and go it on weekend. why they want to replace the throttle body that a good cleaning wouldnt fix? seriously if your paying out of pocket for this i would take it somewhere else other than a dealer and get their opinion.
if all that stuuff has oil in it, it does not mean its garbage or that you need a new one by any means, They are trying to shaft you... Check your tps and if you decide you wanna roll up your sleaves then take that stuff out and clean it yourself, its not hard at all
I would only replace the TPS Sensor and the TPS sensor wiring (as far back towards the PCM as you can get). Theres no need to replace any of the other stuff, it simply needs to be removed and a good dose of carb cleaner and water applied to it to get it squeaky clean again. The oil is normal, but those parts (even with a catch can most times) need to be removed and cleaned from time to time to ensure efficiency. I remove mine every 4-6 months and clean them but I'm a bit insane.
They are replacing that stuff under warranty so what the hell. My car really acted up today every time I gave it gas it would start to buck like it was running out of gas. So I pulled over and the car was almost dyeing but never did and I noticed that the boost gauge was at 9-10 vac and its normally at 18-19 vac and wiggling the tps harness did'nt seem to work. My car is stock besides catback, cai,cc. I put in new plug ngk's gapped at .050.
