So im a newbie to the srt-4 family. Just bought my 1st about 2 months ago. the only mods it has is 2 inch lowering springs and mopar blow off valve. A friend of mine has a brand new larger intercooler he got off modern performance not to long ago. Well unfortunately he totalled his car before he was able to install it. He is offering it to me for a GOOD deal. I am looking into upgrading to stage one and dtec. it will be another year or so before i purchase stage one and dtec. Can i install the larger intercooler on the stock motor without hurting it or should i wait until i purchase stage one and dtec?

well, you can go ahead with the larger intercooler. although it honestly wont help you very much on stock or stage 1. it will certainly give the car a more agressive appearance, but you wont see any killer power gains from it. if its from modern chances are its a good quality i/c... not some cheap fleebay pos. so if its a good deal, and you plan on building your car a little anyhow, why not get it now

 

Things could have been a lot worse for him. He could have put the new IC on the car and then wrecked it shortly after that. At least he can still sell it.
