Mopar BOV hurt boost recovery ?
I've read enough to know that are cars are speed-density or MAP controlled cars ( like my turbo civic ), so the problem of loading up on fuel between shifts isn't going to be a problem. The only think I really don't like about open atm. BOVs is that the BOV is re-curculated into the turbo to help keep it spin between shifts.
Has anyone noticed any boost recovery lose ?
I'd imagine that its not a problem at all on the SRT4 b/c its a pretty small turbo for such a large 4 cylinder engine.
I'm more "go fast" related than " sound fast ", so I'm looking into turning the boost up and all that first...
( sneak another question in real fast )
I guess there isn't a "check engine light" if you boost a little too much ( from what I've read fuel cut is around 18.5 psi ). For some reason I thought I'd read that if you boosted too much on a SRT4 that the CEL would come on and you'd have to have dodge re-set it and explain to them why it was on...

Not sure what you mean by boost recovery loss so someone else will have to help you with that.
As far as the CEL I think you get one because of an overboost. You can have the dealer reset it or you can un plug the battery and let it sit. I would do the battery thing before I would bring it in. I had a bad injector and it was replace for free under warranty and I had mods on. I didn't have to explain anything but that was the dealer where I'm at.

Since the BOV is only recommended for Stage 3, I think there is no performance benefit to the Mopar BOV at any level the stock turbo can boost at. The boost is bled back into the intake point, and I cant see it keeping the turbo spooled. Take a look at my Stage 3 thread, that slot you see is where the stock valve dumps pressure back into the system.
If your car puts out more than 18 psi boost it will trip the CEL and you will be screwed if it happens multipule times, I've heard of warrantys being voided from it happening over and over.
WOw, scary, I just got my first CEL from running too much boost.... For a second I didn't think it had a "too much boost CEL".
Drive a 85' omni and you'll see what I mean about boost recovery...
everytime you shift the car fails into vaccum and you have to wait for it to spool back up ( extreme case ), but that would be "bad boost recovery". Since the SRT4 is a 2.4L with a kinda small turbos, its not really an issue I guess.

Gotcha
As my name implies, I understand perfectly
Yeah, the stock system is fine, no changes needed, it's completely different. Way back, I had an 85 ShelBy Charger, and now have a GLHS, both of which suffer from that. I kept the stock setup until I went to the Stage 3 turbo, then I changed it out for a Forge BOV, as it's closest to the specified Mopar part, just better made.
